I originally intended to do this piece to basically blow away my original ivy illustration. I had worked really hard on it but at the end of the day I didn't like the piece and didn't realize how bad it was till I went back and redid it. Basically I just painted over it in Photoshop and what a difference it made. My original was a blend of prisma markers and Photoshop but the problem with scanning marker is that it just doesn't look that good. Well thankfully I've finally gotten to the point where I've been able to capture the look i wanted just using Photoshop which is quicker and a better quality product.
As far as the new 52 DC Comics has launched well I'm not sure if I like Poison Ivy's new look but believe me when I say its only a matter of time before I draw her with that costume. Don't get me wrong her new costume makes a little more sense and I'm sure it gets pretty cold in Gotham City to just be wearing a little bit of ivy but some designs I just can't let go of and Ivy's is on of those designs.
